Goo Goo

SOLD to British Young Event Rider

7yo, 16.1hh, bay gelding

Goo Goo (Cody) is by the famous Grand Prix jumping stallion Van Gogh, who himself won the CSI5* in Hong Kong in February 2016 and in Zurich 2017, and his dam is a 1.30m jumper with the KWPN sport predicate.

He has proven siblings currently out on the eventing circuit, who are also sired by Van Gogh, which include, Rudy Valentino ridden by James Stocker who is successful at CCI*** and Picasso V ridden by Adam Harvey who completed a double clear at his first 3* age 9 at Blenheim. Also, Albert VI who was campaigned at Young Rider level with Chelsea Pearce comes from the same dam line

Having focussed originally on show jumping, Cody has started his eventing career with ease. He picked up a 4th place at Goring BE100 and won the BE100 at Tweseldown after xc schooling for the first time only a couple months before, finishing on his leading dressage score of 27.8. He is an incredibly easy ride xc, never strong, always off the leg and straight on your line and has easily made the xc time.

On the flat he has beautiful elastic and elevated paces and is a real striking and flashy horse. He is schooling BE Novice and 1* movements at home.  He’s established in leg yielding, medium trot & canter, counter canter and rein back. He is now working towards Intermediate movements.

Cody finds show jumping very naturally easy as he’s already competed to 1.35m (7yo qualifier) level and placed 2nd in a 1.30m. He is very careful and has more than enough scope for top level eventing and the easy trainable brain to match.

Over the past three years he has been produced up the show jumping levels, qualifying for various finals, but he hasn’t been over jumped. He’s an all-round happy and loving horse that always wants to please. He has the best personality you could ask for, very affectionate and loving on the ground and an easy but also competitive ride.

Cody would be an incredible junior and young rider horse due to his complete genuine attitude, he’s very straightforward and always wanting to please his rider.

I have owned and ridden Cody for the past 3 years and this is a very hard sale so he will only be going to a 5* home.

He's good to shoe, travel, clip, hack alone & in company and has been ridden whilst leading another.
